The Daily Social: How to Announce a New Product or Service on Social Media

You have spent weeks getting a new product or service ready, and it deserves better than a single post that says it is here. Most small businesses announce something new once, watch the post get a handful of likes, and wonder why sales did not follow. The problem is not the product. It is the rollout. A launch is a story you tell over several days, not a one-time announcement. Here is a simple playbook any small business can follow to turn something new into real buzz and real customers.

1. Tease It Before You Announce It

Start building curiosity three to five days before launch. Post a close-up detail shot, a behind-the-scenes clip of the final touches, or a simple text post that says something new is coming Friday. Ask followers to guess what it is in the comments. Anticipation does the heavy lifting, because people who have been wondering all week are far more likely to stop scrolling when the real announcement lands.

2. Make the Announcement About the Customer

When launch day arrives, resist the urge to list features. Lead with the problem your new offer solves or the moment it makes better. Instead of announcing a new smoothie flavor, talk about the perfect post-beach refresher. Instead of listing what a new service includes, describe how it saves your customer a Saturday. People buy outcomes, so put the outcome in the first line of your caption.

3. Show It in Action With Video

A static graphic cannot carry a launch on its own. Film a short vertical video of the product being made, unboxed, or used, or of the service being delivered for a real customer. Fifteen to thirty seconds is plenty. Video gets more reach on every platform, and seeing something in motion answers the questions a photo leaves open, like size, texture, and how it actually works.

4. Spread the Launch Across a Full Week

One post is a moment. A week of posts is a campaign. Plan the announcement post, a demo video, a story Q and A about the new offer, a customer reaction or first review, and a last-call reminder. Each post reaches a slightly different slice of your audience, because most followers never see any single post. Repetition is not annoying, it is how the message actually gets through.

5. Give Early Buyers a Reason to Act Now

Attach a simple launch-week incentive: a small discount for the first ten customers, a freebie with every purchase through Sunday, or early access for followers only. Urgency turns interest into action, and rewarding your social audience trains people to pay attention next time you announce something. Mention the deadline clearly in every launch post so no one is surprised when it ends.
